Packing Lists

🌧️ Rain & Weather Protection

  • High-Quality Poncho/Raincoat: A heavy-duty poncho is better than an umbrella for trekking (hands-free).
  • Handheld Umbrella - General use, quick use purpose
  • Waterproof Dry Bags: Essential for protecting cameras, phones, and wallets during river treks
  • Quick-Dry Clothing: Synthetic fabrics only. Avoid heavy denim; it won't dry in the Meghalaya humidity.
  • Microfiber Towels: Compact and fast-drying.
  • Personal Clothing - Carry lightweight clothing as per the requirement, a windcheater or any sports jacket works during trekking and a light fleece during chilly evenings in the stays
  • Beanie or Cap If needed

🥾 Footwear

  • Trekking Shoes with Deep Lug Sole: Vital for the slippery and Rocky rails.
  • Floaters/Sandals with Straps: To use in stays
  • Spare Laces & Eco Bags: To wrap wet shoes before putting them in the car.
  • Extra Pair of socks

🚙 Vehicle & Tech Essentials

  • Compact Duffel Bags/Rucksacks: Request clients to use soft duffels or rucksacks rather than hard suitcases to maximise the Cars' limited boot space.
  • Power Bank: Essential for long drives and multi-day village stays with limited power.
  • Offline Maps: Download Google Maps for the entire region
  • Spotify Playlist: sometimes The road drives from and to is long; have the music ready.

🔦 Expedition Gear

  • Headlamp/Flashlight: Need one when the phone battery goes off
  • Leech Socks: If you're scared of leeches more than tigers, then please carry one.
  • Bug Repellent (Odomos/DEET): Essential for the river camps and forested villages.
  • Personal First-Aid: Include anti-diarrheals, electrolytes (ORS), and waterproof band-aids, Travel sickness and Personal Medications.
  • Small daypack (10-15L) - For water and snacks during the local exploration or trekking.

💳 Logistics & Cash

  • Hard Cash: Ensure you have enough for local meals.
  • Physical ID Copies: Required for check-ins and any potential inner-line checkpoints (Adhar works everywhere)

🧴 Personal Care

  • Bring your own meds and toiletries. The Thar has many strengths; 'infinite cargo space for 14-step skincare routines' is not one of them
  • Bring your toiletries, I mean, things that keep you alive and smelling decent
